Range & Wall Oven - Cleaning the Exterior

It is important to clean any spills on a range or wall oven as soon as the oven has cooled. Marinades, fruit juices, tomato sauces, or any other liquids containing acids may cause discoloration if not wiped up quickly.

Control Panel, Door, and Other Exterior Surfaces

  1. To minimize the possibility of electric shock, unplug this appliance from the power supply before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
  2. Be sure all surfaces are cool before cleaning any part of the oven.
  3. Use soap and water to thoroughly clean the top, sides and front of the oven door. Do not let water or soap drip into the vent at the top of the door.
  4. Rinse and dry well.

Other Cleaning Options

  • You may also use Cerama Bryte Appliance Cleaner, part number WX10X392.
  • You can also use a vinegar and water solution (1/4 cup vinegar to two quarts of water).
  • For the glass on the door, a non-ammonia based glass cleaner can be used. Ammonia can discolor black glass surfaces.
  • Do not use oven cleaners, abrasive cleaners, strong liquid cleaners, steel wool, plastic scouring pads or cleaning powders on the exterior surfaces.
