Dishwasher - Plastic Smell
Most odors associated with new appliances are normal. The processes used during manufacturing may often leave a "newness" odor that may not dissipate until after several washing cycles. You can help alleviate this condition by running the dishwasher through several cycles using detergent.
Eliminating the Plastic Smell From Inside a Dishwasher
- This is normal and the smell dissipates during normal use.
- During initial use you may smell the tub material, chlorine bleach in detergent, or the smell of rinse aid.
- You can also try running the empty dishwasher through several cycles using detergent.
Repair Service Required
A dishwasher will not normally retain odors, so odors present for extended periods of time should be considered abnormal. For service, please schedule a repair appointment with Bodewell.
