Top Load Washer - Infusor Tips

Many top load washers made today have an infusor rather than a traditional agitator. These are energy efficient, low water usage models that optimize water usage by enabling the washer to determine the amount of water required for the size of each wash load.

Optimizing the Use of a Top Load Washer With an Infusor

To get the maximum wash performance with an infusor, please remember the following tips.

Step 1: Select the right amount of High Efficiency (HE) detergent. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended amount for your load. Pre-treat stains if needed. HE detergent is a low sudsing detergent. Contrary to other applications, suds in a washing machine can reduce cleaning performance.

Step 2: Loosely load the clothing into the washer basket around the outside of the basket. Pouring and/or compacting the load can lead to poor cleaning performance and increase wrinkling and tangling. Do not wrap items around the infusor as that can lead to increased wrinkling.

Step 3: Close the lid. Select the settings for the wash cycle. To get the maximum rinse performance, select an option with fabric softener (adds additional water to the rinse).

Note: Keep the lid closed during the entire wash cycle.
