Many Dryers feature a Dryer timer knob. The following article describes the direction of the movement of the Dryer timer knob.

Using the Timer Knob on a Dryer

Dryer timer knobs will turn in both directions, clockwise and counter-clockwise, when setting the dry time.

• GE and Hotpoint models: The timer turns clockwise when the Dryer is operating.
• Hotpoint models manufactured prior to 1995: The timer turns counter-clockwise when the Dryer is operating.
