Front Load Washer - Moving Instructions
If a front-load washer needs to be moved to a new location, like into a storage space or in a moving van, it's important to prepare the washer properly to avoid damage to the appliance.
Preparing the Front Load Washer for Moving
- Unplug the washer power cord.
- Drain the water out of the pump by removing the pump filter.
- Turn off the hot and cold water supply to the washer.
- With a pair of pliers, carefully unscrew and remove the hoses from the washer and the faucets.
- The hoses can be stored inside the washer tub once you have drained the water out of them.
- Remove the drain hose from the house drain standpipe.
- Remove the mounting screw that holds the hose attached to the back of washer.
- Pull the drain hose out and store it in the washer tub.
- Re-install the shipping bolts, spacers, and clamps on the back of the washer to prevent damage to the appliance.
- Visit GE Appliances Parts & Accessories if replacement shipping parts are needed.
