Bottom Freezer and French Door Refrigerator Water Dispenser Temperatures and Capacity

Bottom freezer and french door refrigerators have a water reservoir coil in the fresh food section that cools 16 oz. of water. The water is chilled and stored until it is needed. Since the reservoir is in the fresh food section, the water will not be ice-cold.

The first time the dispenser is used, the chilled water lever may need to be pressed for two to three minutes to fill the reservoir for the first time. It takes approximately seven seconds to fill an eight ounce glass with water.

After the 16 oz. of cold water is dispensed, any additional water dispensed will not be chilled until the water in the coil tubing has had time to chill again.

Models with a Hot Water Dispenser have a separate stainless tank that holds 22 ounces of hot water, which dispenses hot water in 10 oz increments. The temperature must be set again to dispense additional hot water. Water is fed into the hot water tank independently from the cold water.
