Refrigerator - Not Running

If your Refrigerator is not running, there are a few basic things you can check prior to scheduling a service appointment. Please consider the following problem solving tips before scheduling a repair.

Checking a Refrigerator That Is Not Running

Demo Mode May Be Turned On (New Installation)

• If "0F 0F" appears on the display, the Refrigerator is in DEMO MODE.
  • Models With Controls On the Outside of the Door: Press and hold the Energy Saver and Adjust Freezer buttons at the same time for 3 seconds.
  • Models With Controls Inside the Fresh Food Compartment: Press and hold the Ice Off and Freezer buttons at the same time for 3 seconds.
  • When Demo Mode is turned off, you will hear a beep, and "0F 0F" will no longer be displayed. Adjust the Refrigerator and Freezer temperatures to the desired settings. Allow 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize.
• If "dE no" or "Showroom Mode" appears on the LCD touch display, or the ice dispenser does not function (LCD display models), the Refrigerator is in DEMO MODE. There are different buttons to press to clear Demo Mode, depending on model. To turn off Demo Mode, try one of the following:
  • Press and hold Lock Controls + Precise Fill for 5 seconds. Press Yes, when asked.
  • Press and hold Freezer + Refrigerator + Crushed for 5 seconds.
  • Press and hold Freezer + Refrigerator + Auto Fill for 5 seconds.
  • Press and hold Refrigerator + Smart Heating + Ice for 5 seconds.

Check to See If There Is Power to the Refrigerator

• Make sure the Refrigerator plug is not loose and that there is power going to the outlet.
• Make sure the temperature control is turned to the "on" position.

The Refrigerator May Be in a Defrost Cycle

• The defrost cycle generally runs every 8 to 10 hours, but can vary, and lasts about 25 minutes.
• The cycle turns off automatically.
