Monogram Refrigerator Normal Sound

All of the Monogram built-in Refrigerator Models (ZIC/ZIF/ZIR/ZIS) will briefly hiss, burp, or gurgle when the Door(s) are closed.

You may notice that the Door(s) will be difficult to reopen immediately after closing. The effect is most pronounced the refrigerator or freezer is empty, and noticeably decreases as it is filled to capacity ,and will also vary with room temperature, humidity, altitude, and the time since warm food items last added, and the time since and during the door was last opened, etc. Wait 20 to 30 seconds until the air pressure equalizes. When the refrigerator or freezer door is first opened, all the chilled dry air falls out of the interior of the refrigerator within seconds and is replaced with warm moist ambient air from the room.

When the refrigerator or freezer door is closed that warm / moist air is quickly chilled. As the internal air temperature drops the interior air pressure must also drop according to the Classical Physics Equation of State; PV=rRT. The ambient air is drawn through the Condensate Drain Water Seal J-Trap within 20 to 30 seconds to equalize air pressure inside and outside the Unit. Because of superior Monogram Door Seal it will be near impossible to reopen either FF or FZ door or dispense ice on Dispenser models immediately after closing a Door. Wait 20 to 30 seconds for the air pressure to equalize before reopening doors or dispensing ice.
