Dishwasher - Full-Extension 3rd Rack
Found on some GE Profile, Café, and Monogram Dishwashers, the third rack functions as a utensil drawer for flatware, cooking/serving tools, or other small items. Because the rails for the third rack are attached to the Dishwasher, it cannot be added to models without this feature option.
Most models include a third rack if they have this feature. There are some Dishwasher models with an optional third rack feature where the third rack is purchased separately. This requires the purchase of the Dishwasher Optional 3rd Rack GPF3RACK.
Using the Full-Extension, Smooth-Glide Third Rack in a Dishwasher
Can hold an entire flatware collection and/or knives, soup ladles, tongs, etcetera.
On most models, you have a full one piece rack. Many Monogram models have a 2 piece rack.
2 piece rack:
One tray is two-thirds the width of the rack frame; the other is one-third the width of the rack frame.
One or both pieces of the third rack can be removed from the rack frame if needed. For example, when washing a very tall item in the upper rack.
Both trays can be used on either the left or the right side, but neither can be placed in the middle of the rack frame.
One piece rack: 1 piece design makes it easy to remove and carry to your utensil drawer to unload.
