Ranges and Wall Ovens - Convection Bake Versus Conventional Bake

Conventional Bake

  • Heat comes from the bake and broil elements.

Convection Bake

  • Heat comes from the third element which is located around the fan located in the rear of the oven (this element is not exposed like the bake & broil elements). The convection fan circulates this heated air evenly, over and around the food.

Note: When using Conventional Bake feature, then changing to Convection Bake, the temperature display may drop substantially. This is normal because the convection fan comes on and will begin circulating the air (i.e. hotter areas of the cavity with colder areas of the cavity). As a result, it will take some time for the air flow temperature to even out within the cavity and again reach the selected temperature.
