Microwave Reasons for Burned Popcorn

Due to variability in the way popcorn will cook, even within the same brand, it may be necessary to reduce the cooking time to prevent burning.

 

Other reasons that popcorn may not cook properly:

 
  • Using low fat popcorn instead of regular.
  • Old popcorn (not enough moisture to pop).
  • Using a small bag size.
  • Putting the bag upside down in the microwave.
