Upright Freezer - How to Level

Proper leveling of an upright freezer ensures the best use and assists in making sure the freezer door closes properly.

Leveling an Upright Freezer Correctly

Upright freezers should have a slight tilt towards the back so that when the door is opened less than half way it will automatically close on its own. Leveling legs at the front corners of the freezer should be set so the freezer is firmly positioned on the floor and the front is raised just enough so the door closes easily when opened about halfway. If the freezer is too level, the door will not close properly on its own.

  • To raise the bottom of the freezer, turn the leveling legs to the left. Turn to the right to lower. Instructions are in the Owner's Manual for your specific model.
