Upright & Chest Freezer - Recommended Air Clearances

For proper air circulation and correct installation, many appliances must have air clearances around the product. Installation requirements can vary, so checking the Installation Instructions to determine air clearance requirements for your specific model is recommended.

Meeting the Minimum Air Clearance Requirements on an Upright or Chest Freezer

The following are the minimum air clearances required for current upright and chest freezer models.

Upright Freezer

• 3 inches of clearance on the top.

• 3 inches of clearance at the back.

• 3 inches of clearance on each side.

Chest Freezer

5 and 7 cubic feet capacity models:

• 3 inches of clearance on all sides.

• 3 inches of clearance at the back.

9, 11, 16 and 22 cubic feet capacity models:

• 2 inches of clearance on all sides.

• 2 inches of clearance at the back.
