Upright & Chest Freezer - How to Confirm Power to the Freezer

Some upright and chest freezers have a Power On indicator light on the exterior case of the unit. However, many models do not have a designated Power On indicator. To check to make sure you are getting power to the freezer, you can do the following:

1. Adjust the temperature control to the highest setting.

2. Wait 10 minutes or so to see if the compressor will come on.

3. If not, try plugging a small lamp into the outlet to confirm if the outlet is working.

4. If the outlet is not working, check the circuit breaker or fuse or call an electrician.

5. If there is power to the outlet but the freezer is not working, service is recommended.
