Electric Range - Check Power Supply
Electric ranges require 240/208 volts to operate. Our electric ranges do not come with power cords from the factory. Any problem with voltage or with the power cord is considered to be an installation problem and is not covered under warranty.
Checking for a Proper Power Supply on an Electric Range
If you get partial voltage, the clock may work but, the burners will not heat properly.
- Turn a burner on high.
- Watch the burner as it heats up.
- If the burner glows red across the coil, you do not have a voltage problem.
- If the burner does not glow red across the coil, you may have a voltage problem.
- Test again using a different burner.
Resolving a Problem With the Voltage
- Check your circuit breakers or fuses.
- Turn the breakers OFF and then back ON.
- If you have fuses, check for signs of damage. Try a different fuse.
- Turn off the circuit breaker and unplug the range.
- Check the power cord for a loose connection.
- Check the power cord for burned or broken wires.
- Contact an installer or electrician, as needed.
