Dishwasher China Crystal or Delicate Wash Cycle

This wash cycle provides a gentle wash for delicate items.

 

China is normally safe to wash in your automatic dishwasher. However, antique, metal trimmed, hand painted china or over-the-glaze patterns are vulnerable to fading with high water temperature and detergent solutions and should not be washed in a dishwasher. If there is any question, check with the manufacturer of the chinaware, or test wash one piece daily for at least one month for comparison with the rest of the set.

 

Use this cycle for lightly soiled china and crystal. This cycle is similar to the energy saver cycle except the wash action is softened by pumping air along with the water to protect your delicate items. Be sure to pre-rinse items before loading.

 

The china crystal cycle also uses less hot water to provide a gentler wash action to protect delicate items. The water fill on dishwashers is controlled by the timer. A normal cycles takes 90 seconds to fill, the china crystal cycle has a 60 seconds fill time. Load securely to prevent movement.

 

On models that don't have a China/Crystal cycle, the Light cycle is safe for China and Crystal.
