Dishwasher - Dishes Breaking

If you are experiencing an issue with dishes breaking, chipping, or cracking in your dishwasher, the tips in this article should be able to resolve the concern.

Diagnosing Dishes That Are Breaking or Damaged In a Dishwasher

Rough handling of dishes will cause chipping. Be sure to load all dishes with care. To help prevent breakage, please ensure that you observe the following guidelines.

  • Place your dishes firmly in the racks so they cannot be dislodged.

  • Lean glasses against the tines with the rims of the glasses resting on the bottom of the rack.

  • When placing tall glassware and stem ware in the dishwasher, make sure that they will clear the top of the tub. Glasses and stem ware should always be placed in the upper rack.

Please consult the Owner's Manual for your specific model for recommendations on proper loading of dishes.
