A microwave oven can be safely stored in most locations. We recommend that you clean the microwave, especially the interior, prior to storing the appliance.

Storing a Microwave Oven When Not In Use for a Period of Time

The microwave should be stored in an area where the temperature is 32 degrees Fahrenheit or above. If stored in temperatures lower than 32 degrees Fahrenheit, moisture may form in the electronic parts which could damage the appliance when it is brought into warmer temperatures.
