Washers Handwash Washer System

This applies to the models built before 1995.

The Handwash System provides flexibility of laundering lightly-soiled and fine washables.

GE's exclusive handwash system has a special handwash agitator concealed under the regular agitator plus a special "handwash" cycle and water level settings.

  • Two agitators for washing flexibility:The handwash agitator is for washing small loads of lightly-soiled items (anywhere from a single item to 2-1/2 pounds of clothes). The regular agitator is for doing hard-to-clean loads with ground-in dirt.
  • Water/energy/time savings. The handwash system uses up to 32% less water per fill than the low water setting of the same washer. In addition, saving hot water saves energy. It also saves time by offering a shorter wash period than our regular and heavy soil cycles.

Hand wash fill = 0.3 gal

Low fill = 12.02 gal
