Microwave - Charcoal Filter Included or Optional

As of June 2014, all vented over-the-range microwaves and Advantium ovens are shipped with a charcoal filter (included in the upper packing or with the Owner's Manual), except model JVM3150 and RVM5160. 

The JVM3150, RVM1535, and RVM5160 have an optional charcoal filter that can be purchased if the microwave will be installed as non-vented. Check the microwave product details for the appropriate charcoal filter to use. Charcoal filters can be ordered from GE Appliance Parts. Purchase a GE Appliance part online. 

Non-vented models are shipped with the charcoal filter installed, except JNM3151, which is included but in the upper packing.

Charcoal filter replacement on AVM4160, JVM3160, and JNM3161 microwaves: 

Charcoal filters were included with some vented microwaves starting in 2013. From Jan 2014 to June 2014, all models had charcoal filters except the PSA9120, PSA9240, PVM9179, and JVM3150 models.  The serial number will verify the microwave manufacture date and can help confirm if a charcoal filter should have been included.
