Microwave - Charcoal Filter Included or Optional

As of June 2014, all vented over-the-range microwaves and Advantium ovens are shipped with a charcoal filter which is included in the upper packing or with the Owner's Manual except models JVM3150, RVM1535 and RVM5160.

Microwave Charcoal Filter

The JVM3150, RVM1535, and RVM5160 had an optional charcoal filter that could be purchased if the microwave was installed as non-vented. Check the microwave product details for the appropriate charcoal filter to use. Charcoal filters can be ordered from our GE Appliances Parts & Accessories website.

Non-vented models are shipped with the charcoal filter installed, except JNM3151, which is included but in the upper packing.

Charcoal filters were included with some vented microwaves starting in 2013. From Jan 2014 to June 2014, all models had charcoal filters except the PSA9120, PSA9240, PVM9179, and JVM3150 models. The serial number will verify the microwave manufacture date and can help confirm if a charcoal filter should have been included.
