Degree Rotation and Adjustment of Gas Burner Controls
All gas surface units operate in one of four possible ways and have infinite positions between high and low. The different types are listed below:
- 270 degree knob rotation (12 o'clock to 9 o'clock): Most self clean models have this style of control. This allows the most flame flexibility from high to low. If you pull the knob off and there is an adjustment screw in the center of the shaft, the valve is adjustable by qualified gas technician.
- 210 degree knob rotation (12 o'clock to 7 o'clock): Some model cooktops have this type of control. The flame height may be adjustable. Pull the control knob off, if there is an adjustment screw in the center of the shaft, it is adjustable by a qualified gas technician.
- 180 degree knob rotation (12 o'clock to 6 o'clock): Some self-cleaning models have this style control. The low flame portion of this valve can be adjusted up or down by a technician.
- 90 degree knob rotation (12 o'clock to 3 o'clock): Most standard and continuous clean gas ranges have this style control. Some current controls can be adjusted by a qualified service tech.
