Refrigerator - Cardboard Under the Condenser
Many Refrigerators may have a piece of cardboard (Masonite) or metal under the condenser as well as at the back, bottom of the appliance. This is not packing or shipping material. This is a part of the Refrigerator design.
Understanding the Function of Cardboard Under the Condenser or On the Back of a Refrigerator
Cardboard Under Condenser
This is actually a piece of Masonite and it is there to ensure proper air flow. Do not remove it. On some models, this piece may be a V-Shaped piece of metal, this is also considered normal and should not be removed.
Cardboard at Bottom, Rear of Refrigerator
Many Refrigerators come with a cardboard or metal cover on the rear of the Refrigerator, at the bottom. This should not be removed, as it protects components at the bottom of the Refrigerator.
