Top Load Washer - Overflow Tube Location

In the rare event that a top load washer fills too full or water splashes over the inner basket, there is an overflow tube that catches the water and directs it away from electric or mechanical parts. This is a practical safety feature as a part of the appliance design.

Understanding the Function of the Overflow Tube on a Top Load Washer

• When facing the washer, the tube is on the left hand side at the rear corner and directs the water toward the front of the washer.
• If the water should spill through the tube, it is directed to the floor at the left rear corner. There is not a drip or "catch" pan for the water. However, you can purchase a washer tray for under your washer on our GE Appliances Parts & Accessories website. The part number for the washer tray is PM7X2.
