Upright Freezer - Error, Fault or Function Codes
Error, fault or function codes are programmed into many electronic upright freezer controls. These codes help GE Appliance Bodewell technicians quickly diagnose issues with the upright freezer.
Fault Codes
A summary of the most common fault codes and their meanings is listed below.
| Fault Code | Definition |
| E and 7 | Button stuck for more than 30 seconds |
| E and 8 | Thermistor is shorted |
| E and 9 | Thermistor is open |
In order to attempt clearing the code yourself, please follow the steps below:
- Disconnect power to the upright freezer for 30 seconds.
- Restore power.
Repair Service Recommended
If the fault code does not reset or appears again, service will be required. If you would like to schedule a service appointment, please schedule a repair appointment with Bodewell.
GE Appliances does recommend unplugging the upright freezer until you have it serviced.
