Freezer Error, Fault or Function Codes for Upright Freezers

Fault/Error codes are programmed in many electronic upright freezer controls. These codes help GE Appliance Service technicians quickly diagnose issues with the upright freezer.

Fault code	Definition
E and 7	Button stuck for more than 30 seconds
E and 8	Thermistor is shorted
E and 9	Thermistor is open

In order to attempt clearing the code yourself, please follow the steps below:

• Disconnect power to the upright freezer for 30 seconds.
• Restore power.

If fault code appears again, service will be required. If you would like to schedule a service appointment, please contact GE Appliance Service or schedule a service appointment online.

GE Appliances does recommend unplugging the upright freezer until you have it serviced.
