Front Load Washers start up differently than Top Load Washers. We are providing guidelines for use of the Front Load Washer as well as the expected sequence of operation of the Washer.

Understanding the Sequences of Operation of a Front Load Washer
- Load clothes.
- Load detergent and other laundry products that you may need.
- Press the Power button. The first time the appliance is plugged in, you may see a 15 second delay with the display coming on. The computer is checking the system - this is normal.
- Select the cycle; for example, Whites, Normal, or Speed Wash.
- Press Start.
- For 15 seconds, the Washer's computer checks the system and then locks the door.
- The basket turns 1/4-turn clockwise, then counter-clockwise and unlocks the door. This is called the Child Safety procedure. The system pauses for ~15 seconds with the door unlocked, to allow a child to get out.
- The system locks the door and does a dry spin to determine the weight of the clothes in the Washer.
- If this is a Front Load model with a bulk dispenser, the first time it is used a 2 minute delay happens while the system charges the pumps for SmartDispenseā¢.
- A little water is added and the appliance does a spin to better determine the weight of the clothes.
- The Washer begins filling with water based on the weight of the clothes, and starts the wash process. This is about 60 seconds after Start was pressed (or 3 minutes for SmartDispense).
