Top Load Washer - Recirculation Pump

Some top load washers feature a pump that recirculates the water. The water pumps from the tub to the top and cascades back down over the wash load. This provides very effective wash action.

Observing the Recirculation Pump Action In a Top Load Washer

Top load washers with glass lids all have a recirculation pump that runs during the wash cycle. These are typically GE Profile™ models. After the washer has filled, the recirculation pump continually moves this water and detergent through the wash load.
