Dishwasher - Circulation System with Alternating Spray Arms
The dishwasher fills with water to the proper level just below the fine filter cap.
It is normal to hear it pause during the cycle briefly. The wash pump will cycle on and send water to the lower spray arm. The motor will run, stop for 1 second, restart, stop and pause for 5 - 8 seconds, restart and then repeat this pattern throughout the cycle. The motor run time will vary depending on the wash cycle selected.
During the wash cycle the wash pump alternates which spray arm to supply with water. Water is supplied to the lower spray arm, then the wash pump stops and starts again, this time sending water to the mid and upper spray arms.
The lower, mid and upper spray arms do not use water at the same time. This helps maintain good water pressure throughout the cycle.
