Gas Range - Cordless Battery Ignition

Cordless gas ranges may also be referred to as battery-operated ignition gas ranges. Available in our Hotpoint ranges, the model number is RGBS200DMWW.

Understanding the Cordless Battery Ignition Gas Range

  • A standing pilot light is replaced by an electronic spark igniter.
  • The spark igniter lights the surface burners and the oven burner.
  • Gas is used only when the surface burners or oven is turned “ON”.

Using the Range

A 9 volt battery supplies the power to the electronic igniters. Depending on the amount of use of the range, the battery is estimated to last 3 years. If the battery goes out you can manually light the oven, if necessary. However, you should replace the battery as soon as possible.

Locating the Battery

  • The battery is in a compartment on the front of the range behind the broiler door.
  • See the Owner's Manual for details on using the burners, oven and battery replacement.
