Photo Upload French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Photos may be uploaded using a USB memory stick (thumb drive, flash drive or other similar storage device). They cannot be added through a SIM card or USB cord from a camera, phone, computer, etc.

Location:

  • The USB port is located in the dispenser area near the lights/water outlet.
  • There is a black rubber cap covering the USB port.

USB Port

To add photos via USB:

  • Supports FAT, FAT32, NTFS, and UBIFS file size or format.
  • It does not have a memory size, the capacity is in the number of photos.
  • The software on the LCD will resize the photos.

How the Slideshow works:

  • When the user touches the display, it goes to the Home screen. The Home screen will time out after about a minute and then start the Slideshow.
  • Can also be started by going to Settings on the control screen.
  • Starts after the controls are used but before going into sleep mode.
  • The pictures loop for 15 minutes, then turn off.

Should the display show “Photos not found” or “USB not found”:

  • This is typically an issue with where the files are placed on the drive. All .jpg files must be placed in the root directory (not in a folder). Basically, the .jpgs have to be at the highest level on the USB drive for it to read the files.
  • If the .jpgs are at the highest level on the USB and the dispenser still shows “USB not found” or doesn’t detect the drive when it is plugged in, it could be one of the following:
    • Issue with the file system chosen
    • Issue with the specific USB drive
    • Issue with the refrigerator schedule service. For service, please schedule an appointment with GE Appliances Factory Service.
