Dishwasher Operation

Effective dishwasher cleaning depends upon three factors, all of which must work together:

  • Mechanical Action - Movement of water provides a scrubbing action against the dishware, loosening and removing food soils.
  • Temperature - Hot water is needed to effectively dissolve dishwasher detergent, fats, and food residue on your dish load. A temperature in the 120-140°F range is usually needed to dissolve and remove fats.
  • Chemical Action - Dishwasher detergents are critical for dishes to be cleaned properly, and they require special characteristics.

These three factors combine to contribute to overall excellent wash performance in a dishwasher.
