Refrigerator - Hands-Free AutoFill Feature & Operation
Hands-Free AutoFill is a feature that enables you to walk away while the dispenser on your Refrigerator automatically fills any container with filtered water. Just place a container on the dispenser tray, press the AUTOFILL pad and multi-task away. The dispenser pull-out tray feature easily accommodates large containers like pitchers, stockpots and sport jugs (available on specific models).Using Hands-Free AutoFill
- Center the container on the Recess Dispenser Tray as far back as possible without activating the paddle and remove your hand from the container.
- Press the AUTOFILL pad.
Stopping or Canceling Hands-Free AutoFill
- Press any keypad to cancel, including the AUTOFILL pad.
Important Facts About Hands-Free AutoFill
- For optimum results, use a uniform container between 4-8” tall and 2-6” wide. Some models may have a shorter recess; therefore, the maximum container height may be slightly reduced.
- Container shape: Fill level and functionality may vary on containers taller than 8” or wider than 6”.
- Container fill levels may vary. If an error message is given or the fill level is lower than desired, try a different container.
- Handles, straws and garnishes on the rim of the container my cause overfilling or a variation in fill volumes.
- Splashing may occur depending on the location of the container, water flow rate, container shape and ice cubes.
- Keep sensors clean with a clean, damp cloth. Do not spray liquid or cleaners directly on the sensors.
- AutoFill works best with a household water supply pressure of 60 to 100 PSI.
- Ice in the container may affect the fill volume. If issues are experienced, use less ice.
- Some models may display the amount of water in ounces while dispensing. The only refrigerator models that have the AutoFill feature and display water in ounces are the "4-Door" models. For example, the PVD28BYNFS will display water in ounces when using AutoFill.
