Electric Surface Burners Cycle On and Off
It is normal for the surface burners on an electric range or cooktop to cycle on and off at settings other than Hi. This is done to maintain an even temperature at the heat selection that has been chosen.
- The burner will also periodically cycle off and back on again even while in Hi to protect the cooktop from extreme temperatures.
- The burner will cycle on and off more than usual when using pans that are not flat, or are the incorrect size for the burner.
- The burner cycles 100% power for short periods of time on all settings, including Lo.
