Range & Wall Oven - Explanation of Self-Clean Oven Cool Down

Many ranges and wall ovens offer the self-clean oven feature. When the self-clean cycle has finished heating and cleaning the oven, there is a cool down period before the oven door will unlatch and be able to be opened.

Understanding the Self-Clean Cool Down Feature on a Range or Wall Oven

It can take between 30 and 90 minutes for the oven to cool down after a self-clean cycle is done.

• The lock light and clean lights may remain on during this time.
• If the lights are still on after 90 minutes and the oven is still cleaning, terminate the self-clean cycle either by turning off the oven knobs (on model so equipped) or pressing the Clear/Off control pad. If this still does not terminate the cycle, disconnect the power to the range at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
