Top Freezer Refrigerator - Handle Tighten, Remove and Replace

If your Top Freezer refrigerator handle is loose, making noise or even falls off after use, it may not have been installed properly by the owner or installer. Some handles are not factory-installed. The handles are installed by the owner or installer as directed in the Installation Instructions.

Tightening Stainless Handles

Step 1: Use a 3/32” Allen wrench (WX05X10332) to tighten the set screws. Turn the screw counter-clockwise. There is 1 set screws per handle.

Step 2: Remove both Phillips-head screws.

Step 3: Pull the handle out to remove from the door.

Step 4: Use a 3/16" Allen wrench to tighten the mounting stud. Turn the stud clockwise.

Step 5: Replace the handle.

Tightening Plastic Handles

Step 1: Remove both cross head (Phillips-head) screws.

Step 2: Push the freezer handle down. Pull the fresh-food handle up to position the mounting stud inside the wide part of the mounting bracket slot. Pull the handle out and away from the door face.
