Microwave - 7, 8, or 9 Number Pads Do Not Work

You may press the 7, 8, or 9 number pad on your microwave and expect it to start heating immediately but nothing happens. This is not a cause for concern and does not indicate that the microwave is not working properly.

Understanding the Use of the 7, 8, and 9 Number Pads on a Microwave

Many of our microwaves have an "Express Cook" feature for some of the numbers on the key pad. For example, pressing the "2" will cause the microwave to cook for 2 minutes. No microwave has the "Express Cook" feature for the numbers 7, 8, or 9 on the key pad.

These number pads are not used for the "Express Cook" feature. These are used for functions such as changing the power level, setting a specific amount of cooking time or setting the clock.
