Refrigerator - Fresh Food and Freezer Air Flow

The way the air is distributed or circulated within the fresh food and freezer compartments inside a refrigerator varies by design. It basically depends upon the type of evaporation system in the refrigerator. This article explains the different types of evaporation systems.

Single Evaporation System

The air is circulated through vents from the freezer section to the fresh food section and back to the freezer section.

Overhead Evaporation System

The air is not shared between the fresh food and freezer sections. The air circulates within each section.

ClimateKeeper2 Evaporation System

The air is not shared between the fresh food and freezer sections. The air circulates within each section and through the air tower located in the back of the fresh food section.
