Dishwasher - Power Cord

There are a few dishwasher models that come with a power cord included. The majority of dishwashers come with a conduit that is hard wired into a junction box. For models with the conduit, an optional power cord is able to be used.

 

Using an Optional Power Cord With a Dishwasher

Provided below is information regarding optional power cords available for use with a dishwasher. The GE Appliances part number for the optional power cord is listed along with specifications for the cord.

 

GPFCORD / WX09X70910 can be installed on built-in GE, GE Cafe™ Series, GE Profile™ Series, Monogram and Hotpoint dishwashers.

 

  • There are 3 wires – black, white, green. The gauge is 16 AWG.
  • 5 feet 4 inches in length (measurement includes the plug and plastic retainer/exposed wires).
  • Meets length and wire gauge requirements.
  • 13 amp.
  • Straight plug.

WX09X70911 works with most dishwashers with a 3-prong outlet box.

 

  • There are 3 wires – black, white, green.
  • 7 feet 9 inches in length.
  • 13 amp.
  • Straight plug.

GPFQDCORD can be installed with most major brands.

 

  • There are 3 wires – black, white, green.
  • 6 feet in length.
  • This cord kit is #16 AWG (smaller than #14 AWG), 2 conductor , 1 ground, insulated copper conductors rated to 105C.

Check local codes for power cord length. The use of any cord over 6 feet long will void the warranty if local codes restrict the length of the power cord.
