Hot/Cold Water Dispenser Temperature

Your Owner's Manual is a good source for troubleshooting water temperature issues. Download Owner's Manual

If you do not have access to the manual, here are some troubleshooting tips:

  1. Make sure the dispenser is not unplugged.
  2. Check to see if the house fuse is blown or the circuit breaker has tripped. This can happen if too many appliances are installed on the same circuit. Try unplugging a couple of devices on the same circuit.
  3. If you recently used a large amount of hot or cold water, give the dispenser at least 30 minutes to cool or heat the new water in the tank.
  4. The temperature limiter may have tripped. Set the hot and cold power switches (located on the back of the dispenser on some models to the O (off) position. Wait five minutes and then set the switches to the I (on) position. Wait 30 minutes for the water to cool down or heat up.
  5. Potential issues causing a warm chiller temperature:
    • Poor or damaged seal on door/gasket
    • Frequent openings of door (compressor will not run excessively, to cause freezing of cold water tank)
    • Loss of refrigerant (evaporator runs to cold tank first, so feasible cold water is cool and chiller could be warm)

Note: We no longer have hot/cold water dispensers, and have not for many years.
