Dryer Press Guard

Press guard is featured on some Hotpoint dryers to minimize wrinkles. This feature can be used only with the AUTOMATIC SENSI-DRY setting.

To use, turn the PRESS GUARD KNOB to ON and the cycle signal will sound one minute before the permanent press or polyester knit cycle is over. If the clothes are not removed immediately, the dryer will continue to tumble, without heat, for approximately 15 minutes or until the cycle is interrupted. The signal will sound every five minutes of the press guard time.

When the press guard feature is turned ON, there are four separate audible signals. Each signal is five seconds long and one of them occurs every five minutes during the press guard cycle.

When the press guard feature is turned OFF and the end-of-cycle signal is selected, there will be one audible signal, lasting five seconds, occurring sometime during the last five minutes of the drying time.
