Dryers Comparison of Gas and Electric Dryer Venting Lengths

Electric dryers manufactured in 1994 can be vented twice as far as the 1994 gas dryer models. This is true, even though they have the same blower and cubic feet per minute (cfm) rating. The difference is related to the location of the heat sources and the thermostats. Gas dryers have the heat source below the unit and the electrical heat source in behind the drum.
