Wall Oven and Range - Roller / Extension Racks

The roller rack in many wall ovens and ranges glides in and out on ball bearings and is fully adjustable. It may be used in both the upper or lower oven.

Roller racks may also be referred to as:

  • Heavy-duty roller racks
  • Full extension racks
  • Partial extension racks
  • Extension racks
  • Heavy-duty full extension racks
  • Never Scrub (formally referred to as Self-clean) roller or full-extension racks (on some models)

Most roller racks are partial extension racks, which means they have a single rail on each side and pull out about 3/4" of the way (approximately 11"). If the product details indicate the model has full-extension racks, the racks have dual rails on each side for easier rolling, and they pull out all the way (about 14").

All roller racks are either nickel or enamel coated, heavy-duty construction.

Enamel Coated Racks (Never Scrub Racks)

  • Never Scrub roller racks can be placed in the oven during the self-clean cycle. Never Scrub roller racks are noted in the product features and/or owner's manual.
  • Never Scrub racks and are darker in color than a standard rack.
  • Tested for weights to 50 lbs

Nickel Coated Racks (Non-Self Clean Racks)

  • Made of a light, shiny metal and can't be self-cleaned.
  • Tested for weights up to 40 lbs

General information

  • On some older Slide-in and Free-standing models, the roller racks should not be used in the lowest rack position in the oven because the "stop" feature of the roller rack will not function correctly.  This is no longer the case on more recent Front Control and Free-Standing gas and electric models.  This never applied to wall ovens.
  • Graphite lubricant for the roller racks come with the appliance to help keep the rack rolling smoothly. If the graphite lubricant is missing or more is needed, the part number is WB02T10303.
  • For care and cleaning, consult the Owner's Manual.
