Electric Cooktop "Wait" Message

Every time a glass touch-button cooktop is powered up or plugged in (initial installation), the glass touch board goes through an initialization process. During this process the message "WAIT" is displayed.

  • This is designed to prevent any of the keypad buttons from being pressed during this initialization process.
  • If the initialization fails, "WAIT" stays on and the cooktop is rendered unusable.

If this happens, turn the power off to the cooktop (at the breaker) and clean the surface area where the keypads are located. Turn the power on to the cooktop (at the breaker) and if the "WAIT" light returns, service will be required to resolve the issue.

Models that have this feature include the ZEU30R, JP938, JP939, JP969, JP950 and JP980.
