Vent Hood - Flickering Lights
Although uncommon, is can be normal for the lights on a hood to flicker. Voltage going to the lamp while the vent is on the LOW setting passes through an electronic component called a diode. The diode cuts the power by half to achieve the dimmer setting.
- The flicker is a very, very fast flicker.
- It is usually perceived not by looking directly at the lights but by focusing your eye on something near the lights, especially something highly reflective like the cooktop underneath the lights.
- This issue cannot be resolved by replacing either the bulbs or the hood.
