Vent Hood - Does Not Work

If your vent hood is not working, please review the problem solving tips below prior to scheduling repair service.

Diagnosing a Vent Hood That Does Not Work

If the lights and/or the blower do not turn on, the appliance is not connected properly or is mis-wired.

  1. Check to make sure the house breaker has not tripped.
  2. If the breaker is fine, please call your installer or an electrician for assistance.

If the blower does not power on but the lights are on, this means the blower connector plug may be loose or is not plugged in properly.

  1. Disconnect power to the hood.
  2. Remove the filters and check out the blower. The male end of the connector is constructed so that it fits only one way into the female connector. Connect the blower cable as outlined in the Installation Instructions that came with the hood.
