Zoneline Programmable Thermostat

The AZ61 has terminal connections for a remote thermostat. To use a remote/programmable thermostat the consumer will need to go into the auxiliary controls to adjust the settings to allow the thermostat to have control over the unit.

To set-up remote wall thermostats:

Because there are hundreds of thermostats on the market from various manufacturers, we cannot test the thermostats to see if they are compatible with our units.

The thermostat manufacturer should be able to determine whether it is compatible. You can give the manufacturer the following information:

  • We utilize a 24 volt AC signal for communications.
  • For a heat pump unit, the thermostat needs to be a single stage cooling and dual (2) stage heating thermostat (heat pump is the primary heat and resistance heat is the back-up/emergency heat). A heat pump unit requires a minimum of a six wire connections between the thermostat and the unit.
  • Heat pump unit is a "B" type heat pump (for the reversing valve energized in cooling), not an "O" type (reversing valve energized in heating).
  • For a strip heat unit, the thermostat needs to be a single stage cooling and single stage heating thermostat. A strip heat unit requires a minimum of a five wire connections between the thermostat and the unit.
