Range & Wall Oven - Pizza Mode

Select models of double-oven ranges or Twin Flex wall ovens have the Pizza Mode feature. The Pizza Mode on double-oven free-standing ranges and Twin Flex wall ovens provides ideal cooking conditions for preparing fresh or frozen pizzas at the touch of a button.

Using the Pizza Mode Feature

Pizza Mode Utilizes and Provides the Following

  • Preheat
  • Temperature
  • Use of bake and broil elements
  • Top browning
  • Bottom of crust browning

Different Settings for Fresh or Frozen Pizza

To get excellent results, fresh and frozen pizzas must be cooked differently. There is not a specific temperature associated with the Pizza Mode. You actually input a temperature for fresh or frozen pizza. The different settings affect preheat, prepping the oven for cooking, and the different pizza setting controls the cycling of the bake and broil elements on and off to deliver optimum results. The amount of top and bottom heating is different for the two different modes.

Fresh

Fresh pizza goes into the oven at approximately 40 degrees (refrigerator temperature) whereas frozen pizza goes in at 0 degrees. Fresh pizza should be cooked on rack position 2 to deliver the crisp pizzeria crust.

Frozen

Frozen pizzas have ingredients that have been precooked or partially cooked. Frozen pizzas placed directly on rack should be cooked on rack position 1 or 2, and frozen pizzas in a pan should be cooked on rack position 1 to prevent over cooking the crust while toppings are not yet done.
