Top Freezer Refrigerator - Styrofoam in the Interior

Styrofoam is used as an insulating material in Top Freezer refrigerators. It is effective as an insulating material and may also be used to help guide the airflow in some areas of the refrigerator.

Noticing Styrofoam Inside a Top Freezer Refrigerator

Many Top Mount refrigerators have a section of Styrofoam above the freezer control dial. This is not packing material and should not be removed.

Styrofoam may also be located around the vent and in the roof of the refrigerator and should not be removed.
