Range Hood & Vent - How to Clean Surfaces

Range hoods and vents have various finishes. Luckily, the finishes are easy to maintain. Routine cleaning is suggested to prevent soil build-up, thus keeping the hood or vent easy to clean.

Cleaning Painted Steel and Brushed Chrome

Clean with a warm detergent solution. One teaspoon of ammonia may be added to the water. Wash, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use an abrasive cloth, soap filled pad, or scouring powder.

Cleaning Stainless Steel

Clean with a warm detergent solution. Wash, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cloths, steel wool pads, bleach, ammonia or scouring powder.

Note: Do not touch the lamp / light bulb with moist hands or cloths when cleaning the hood surfaces. A warm or hot lamp bulb may break if touched with a moist surface. Always let the lamp cool completely before cleaning around it.
