Compactor Ram Force
Ram force is measured in two different ways, depending on the type of compacting device.
- Some models compact using a scissors action, which causes the force to increase to a maximum at the bottom of the stroke. This style of compactor is rated at 5000 lbs at the maximum point, but it is somewhere below that figure on the way down.
- The other compacting style is similar to a screw jack and has a continuous equal force all the way through the cycle. This type of compactor is rated at 2300 lbs and is a continuous force all the way down.
There is no great advantage or performance difference between the two styles.
