Upright & Chest Freezer - Ice Particles On Items
Frost inside the freezer comes from moisture-laden air that enters the cabinet or from moisture drawn out of the food inside the cabinet. Moisture is not drawn out of foods that are covered or tightly wrapped. Thus, ice particles inside a freezer bag come from moisture that has been drawn out of the food but prevented from reaching the evaporator because of the plastic bag. Avoid this happening by:
-
Tightly wrapping all food and expelling excess air from the package.
-
Remove the plastic covering provided by the store and repackage the food in an appropriate material like freezer paper. For best results, double wrap it.
